Energy Drink or Coffee for the Afternoon Slump
Many afternoons in our office you will see several of us with coffee and others with energy drinks. Is one better than the other?
Energy drinks are an occasional books, but shouldn’t be sipped on a regular basis. Many energy drinks load you up with caffeine, .sometimes as much as 3 cans of soda. Caffeine stimulates your nervous system, reducing fatigue and improving focus and attention. The effects of caffeine, from both coffee and energy drinks, can backfire by upsetting your stomach, giving you heart palpitations, and make you restless and anxious. Energy drinks, unlike coffee, might be filled with unregulated ingredients that can further stimulate your nervous system.
If you’re feeling tired at work, a few minutes of activity can help make you feel more alert – a brisk walk, a flight of stairs or a few jumping jacks.
