Athletes Unlimited 2023 Top Golf Outing & Auction
If you don’t already know, Athletes Unlimited is very near and dear to our hearts here at Michigan Sports and Spine Center! Jeff S. Pierce, D.O. founded Athletes Unlimited in 1996 with the determination to provide an outlet where athletes with disabilities are able to participate in sports socially and competitively. Athletes Unlimited’s guiding philosophy is that life is not intended to be a spectator sport. Everyone, regardless of ability, can benefit from participating in sports. Each year Athletes Unlimited hosts a golf outing to help raise money for our athletes.
This year our golf outing was held at Top Golf in Auburn Hills, MI and everyone had a blast! We have some photos to share from the event below with special guests such as Vladimir Konstantinov and Braylon Edwards supporting the cause, but first allow us to introduce you to one of the featured athletes with an incredible story…
Allyson Ingham
Allyson Ingham
Allyson Ingham’s life story is one of unwavering determination and resilience. From a young age, she embraced adventure and challenges, mastering biking, ATV riding, and even conquering the monkey bars. At 7, she faced a life-threatening battle with Strep A Septicemia, enduring multiple surgeries and nearly losing her limbs to Necrotizing Fasciitis. Her remarkable recovery and determination led her to excel in sports, including volleyball and adaptive track and field. In 2023, she made history as Flushing High School’s first adaptive athlete, becoming the state champion in the 100m event. Allyson’s journey is an inspiring testament to the human spirit, showing that adaptive athletes are athletes too.
