Overview
Tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of a tendon — any one of the thick fibrous cords that attaches muscle to bone. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint.
Causes
Acute injury
Repetitious movement over time
Age
Occupation (i.e. repetitive motions, awkward positions, frequent overhead reaching, vibration, forceful exertion)
Sports
Symptoms
Dull, aching pain in the affected limb or joint especially when moving
Tenderness
Mild swelling
