Dr. Bonnette was born and raised in Metro-Detroit. He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate degree where he met his wife. He was a member of the charter class of Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He then traveled to St. Louis for residency training at Washington University for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Here cultivated his passion for musculoskeletal rehabilitation and interventional approaches to managing pain and optimizing recovery. He was elected Chief Resident during his final year of residency. He then accepted a fellowship position at the University of Michigan for Interventional Pain Management.
When Dr. Bonnette neared the end of his training, he was ready to establish roots in the community where he was raised. He was drawn to Dr. Pierce and Michigan Sports and Spine Center as he has been a fixture in the Metro-Detroit area for over 20 years. After meeting Dr. Pierce and spending some time in the clinic, he found that they had a similar approach to patient care, with comprehensive evaluation and proper diagnosis to craft an individualized treatment regimen with active therapies as the foundation. Dr. Bonnette was eager to collaborate with Dr. Pierce to make Michigan Sports and Spine Center the destination in Metro-Detroit for cutting edge spine, regenerative, and rehabilitation treatment options.
Dr. Bonnette feels that recovery requires a team approach which includes physicians, therapists, and trainers with the patient at the core. Dr. Bonnette believes a comprehensive regimen of rehabilitation, interventional procedures, and regenerative medicine is the best way to return to an active lifestyle and avoid chronic medication use and invasive surgeries.
